The table shows the lowest value for a typical 5-axle combination; higher conditional limits are given only in the notes. The limits depend on the road class (bruksklasse Bk10/BkT8/Bk8/Bk6) and the permitted length on the road (19.50/15.00/12.40 m) according to the veglister (§ 5-3 no. 2, § 5-4). Values given: width 2.55 m (§ 5-4 no. 5; 2.60 m for insulated bodies), length 17.50/19.50 m on 19.50 m roads (table 4), axle loads 10.00/11.50 t for Bk10 (table 1); the combination weight (tables 3a/3b, § 5-4 no. 3) depends on the road class and the minsteavstand (distance from the last axle of the motor vehicle to the first axle of the trailer/semi-trailer) — for a 5-axle combination on Bk10/50: 2-axle tractor unit + 3-axle semi-trailer 37–46 t (from 37 t at 3.00–3.39 m), 2-axle motor vehicle + 3-axle trailer 47 t at ≥ 3.00 m, and at < 3.00 m 19 t; 50 t is the table maximum — the source does not give a single value for a typical combination, so the weight value is not confirmed; on roads of lower classes the limits are lower. § 5-4 contains no general height limit (height appears in special provisions, e.g. § 4-3: 4.5 m for a trailer in a combination >42 t; VegSak allows an application for a height dispensation only as tidsbegrenset). Processing time
VegSak manual (Z5): processing time set at three days for applications of ordinary complexity; very complex applications should be submitted considerably earlier. EN page (Z6): application at least 3 days before the transport. The sources do not specify whether these are working days. [Z5]

§ 5-11 no. 2–4: a pilot vehicle (ledsagerbil) is required when the length exceeds the limit by more than 6.00 m (always above 23.50 m), the width exceeds 3.00 m, or the length exceeds 20.00 m without meeting the turning requirement; for cranes/pumps/platforms – width >3.00 m, >2.75 m with length >16.00 m, length >18.00 m. The number of pilot vehicles is set by the dispensation (without a dispensation – one). The pilot vehicle is provided by the carrier: a car with a gross weight of up to 4 500 kg, without a trailer, with communication equipment, yellow flashing light, first-aid kit, fire extinguisher, torch, stop paddle and vest. When the vehicle exceeds the load capacity of a bridge, Statens vegvesen escorts it across the bridge (for a fee, Z4). [Z2]

§ 5-11 no. 4 g–h: the carrier must inform all competent police districts; the police assess whether they supervise or lead the transport. § 5-9 no. 1: for particularly heavy transports, bridges are crossed under the supervision of an SVV official or the police, with whom the carrier agrees the time. Traffic restrictions
§ 5-11 no. 1 (when the length exceeds the limit by >2.00 m or the width is >2.60 m): no driving on Friday 15:00–24:00 and from 06:00 on Saturday/the weekday before a holiday until 24:00 on Sunday/the holiday (driving allowed until 15:00 on the day before 1 May, 17 May and Ascension Day); no driving in heavy-traffic locations 07:00–09:00 and 15:00–18:00; driving in daylight as far as possible; yellow flashing light at width >2.60 m.
