Escort
Private escort vehicle
At least one escort vehicle registered or insured in Kosovo is required, with a yellow rotating beacon and an illuminated sign „Transport i jashtëzakonshëm” (Annex 3) (čl. 16–17). Depending on the transport and the route, the permit may require two or more escort vehicles (čl. 18 para. 1). Escort personnel: helmet, reflective vest, yellow flags, radio/telephone communication, a set of signs (čl. 26). [Z1]
Police escort
The issuer may additionally require a traffic police escort on the whole route or part of it where: length >25.00 m, width >3.50 m, height >4.50 m, gross weight >80 t, the transport narrows the width available for the opposite direction to less than 3.00 m or occupies the pavement on a bend, or where traffic has to be stopped temporarily (ÄŤl. 18 para. 2). - For crossings over railway tracks: consent of Infrakos JSC (or another competent entity) before the permit is issued (ÄŤl. 12) [Z1]
Traffic restrictions
Abnormal transport takes place at night 23:00–05:00, exceptionally during the day where conditions allow (čl. 15 para. 3). The journey must be interrupted in fog, heavy rain/wind, snow, ice or an incident on the road (čl. 22). Queues of vehicles must be let pass at the first possible place (čl. 21). The permit must be carried in the vehicle (čl. 20). [Z1]
