Issuing authority
§ 8 para. 1 of the Decree. For an individual decision MK NZrt. first obtains the consent of the other road authorities (e.g. motorway concessionaires); in the simplified procedure it only informs them (§ 8 para. 2). Managers of other structures/railway level crossings: 5 days to give consent. [Z1]

§ 2 of Decree 36/2017 NFM (the same for domestic and international traffic). Gross weight: combination with 5+ axles 40 t; 4-axle combination 38 t; 3-axle 28 t; 2-axle vehicle 20 t, 3-axle 26 t, 4+ axles 32 t. Axle load: 'bármely tengelye' (any axle, including the drive axle) 11.5 t. Axle groups: double 16 t (spacing 1.00–<1.30 m), 19 t (1.30–<1.80 m); triple 22 t (<1.30 m), 21 t (mixed), 24 t (1.30–<1.80 m). Length: single vehicle 12 m, bus 15 m. Values for pneumatic tyres. Simplified procedure: the consent is created immediately after the application is submitted. Individual decision: large excess 5 days, extraordinary 10 days, particularly large 15 days; +5 days when the consent of another road authority is needed. Escort
Private escort vehicle
The escort requirement is set by the road authority in the permit (codes K1–K11, Annex 4 of the Decree): ordinary escort (kísérő) or professional escort (szakkísérő — KAV qualification). Warning devices may be fitted only to a vehicle with a Hungarian authority permit entered in the registration certificate (12/2007 IRM). The escorting vehicle must be registered in the system no later than 3 days before the start of validity of the consent (§ 9 para. 4a). [Z5]

- Application 'Közútkezelői hozzájárulás kérelem' (MK NZrt. form or e-office): vehicles from the registration, user, invoice payer, submitter, contact person, dates, start/destination or border crossing, type (eseti/időszakos), dimensions to 2 decimal places, load and weight, declaration of indivisibility, axle table (axle loads, spacings, number of wheels, wheel track) [Z3]
- Valid vehicle registration certificate (in e-office an electronic copy) or another document confirming technical fitness for the journey; in the simplified procedure a declaration of the vehicle's suitability [Z1]
Traffic restrictions
Conditions from the permit according to codes: e.g. N1 driving only 19:00–06:00, N2 19–06 and 10–15, N3/N4 selected sections of M0/M1/M3/M5/M7 only 22–06; ban at visibility <200 m (B3). General restrictions on truck traffic — a separate regulation (link on the MK website). Without a valid permit the customs services refuse entry/exit; no permit = a fine of up to 10 times the fee.
